NOTE: If you use the Repair Utility CD when you should be
reinstalling Dell MediaDirect, the process may not complete properly.
To create a Dell MediaDirect Repair Utility CD and repair Dell MediaDirect on
your hard drive:
- Download the R121517.exe file. Go to C:\dell\Drivers\R121517 folder
- Locate the "Dell MediaDirect Repair Utility A05.iso" file after it has
completed downloading and double-click it.
Your CD Burn software will open.
- Place a blank writable CD into the CD drive and follow the prompts to
create the CD.
- When the Repair Utility CD has been created successfully, place it into
the CD drive and restart your computer.
- Press the <F12> key as soon as the Dell logo screen appears to enter
the boot menu.
- Press the down-arrow key to highlight the first CD listing.
- Press <Enter> to boot from the CD.
- At the prompt, type cd \MD2 and then press the <Enter> key.
- Type Repair and press <Enter>. The Dell MediaDirect repair
utility opens.
- Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select OK and press
<Enter>.
- When the Done message appears, remove the CD from the drive and
press the power button to turn off the computer.
You can now use the Dell MediaDirect button on your computer to launch Dell
MediaDirect.
